Enshrouded is finished — or at least, it has reached the version Keen Games is willing to call 1.0. The survival action RPG first opened in Steam Early Access on January 24, 2024, and after more than two and a half years, eight major updates, 14 patches and 42 hotfixes, the full release is live today on PC and PlayStation 5. More than 5.5 million players have passed through Embervale in that time, and 1.0 is built to give every one of them a reason to come back — while giving PS5 players their first way in.
Enshrouded 1.0 release date and unlock time
Enshrouded 1.0 launched on Thursday, October 15, 2026, unlocking at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. BST / 5:00 p.m. CEST.
If you already own the Early Access version on Steam, 1.0 is a free update — you do not need to buy the game again.
Enshrouded price and platforms
- Price: $39.99 / €39.99 on Steam and the PlayStation Store, with a 10% launch discount running for the first 14 days on both platforms
- PC: Steam, available now
- PlayStation 5: available now, with dedicated PS5 Pro support
- Xbox Series X|S: planned for spring 2027 — there is no Xbox version today
On PS5, players can choose a 60 fps Performance Mode or a 30 fps Quality Mode. PS5 Pro gets its own dedicated 60 fps mode using PSSR 2.0. The console version also supports HDR, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and a new rendering approach that keeps distant terrain and buildings looking sharper.
What's new in Enshrouded 1.0?
Cinder's Cradle completes the map
The headline addition is Cinder's Cradle, a new endgame biome in the north of Embervale, beyond the gates past the Veilwater Basin. It is split in two: a lava-covered wasteland of ruins below, and a chain of floating islands above it, lifted into the sky and packed with ancient architecture and tough new guardians. Expect to bring your best gear — this is high-level territory.
With Cinder's Cradle in place, the Embervale map is complete, and the current main storyline reaches its conclusion, resolving the mysteries around the Ancients and the Shroud. The update also adds two new Hollow Halls — one in the Albaneve Summits and one in the Veilwater Basin — and opens up new areas along the edges of the Springlands, Blackmire and Kindlewastes, with extra quests and Shroud Roots to find.

Level cap 50, new spells and new enemies
Progression goes further in 1.0:
- The character level cap rises to 50
- Gear can reach level 55
- Nine new Mage spells join the spellbook
- A wave of new enemy variants arrives, many of them guarding Cinder's Cradle, with smarter behaviour in fights
- Full voice acting is now in the game in English, Chinese and German
Sparkworks turns bases into playable adventures
The most creative addition is Sparkworks, a logic toolset layered on top of Adventure Sharing — the system that lets players publish their version of Embervale for others to explore. Sparkworks lets builders wire switches, clocks and logic gates into their bases, so a shared world can react: traps can spring, doors can open, enemies can spawn and environmental effects can trigger on cue.
In practice, that turns base-building into dungeon-building. Players can design puzzles, arenas and mini-adventures, then share them with the community — a big new reason to keep returning after the story ends.
Quality-of-life upgrades
Smaller changes round out the update:
- Airborne Architect: fly around your base while building
- Auto-loot: less time spent picking through drops
- Nameable chests: finally, proper storage organisation for big bases

How many players is Enshrouded co-op?
Enshrouded supports up to 16 players in co-op on PC and up to 8 players on PS5. You can also play entirely solo.
One catch for mixed-platform friend groups: crossplay between PC and PS5 is not available at launch. Keen Games plans to add it in a later update, so for now, make sure your whole crew is on the same platform before you start a shared world.
Does Enshrouded end at 1.0?
No. Keen Games has said it will keep supporting Enshrouded with both free and paid content for years to come, alongside the Xbox Series X|S launch in spring 2027. Version 1.0 is positioned as the complete base game — finished map, finished storyline — rather than the end of development.
