Intro
Monster Hunter Outlanders finally has a release date. TiMi Studio Group announced on September 29, 2026 that the Capcom-licensed mobile hunting game launches October 29, 2026 for iOS and Android — and pre-registration is open now.
It's a full Monster Hunter experience rebuilt for phones: survival-hunting action with crafting, exploration, and the series' signature co-op hunts, plus a brand-new Elder Dragon you can't fight anywhere else. Here's everything we know.

Release date, platforms, and price
- Release date: October 29, 2026 (a Thursday)
- Platforms: iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play), worldwide
- Price: free-to-play with in-app purchases
- Mainland China gets the game separately, from 2027 onwards
The date was locked in via a press release and the official @MHO_English channels, with producer videos from TiMi's Huang Dong and Capcom's Ryozo Tsujimoto to mark the announcement. (An earlier App Store placeholder had shown December 15 in some regions — the October 29 announcement supersedes it.)
Pre-registration is open now — here's what you get
You can pre-register right now on the App Store, Google Play, or through the official pre-registration site. Pre-registering gets you a launch notification, and milestone rewards unlock as sign-ups and social follows climb:
- 5 million (reached in Southeast Asia): 5 Standard Contracts + 5,000 Zenny
- Top tier at 20 million: 20 Standard Recruitment Tickets + SR Adventurer "Raya" + more rewards
Garena is publishing the game across Southeast Asia, and pre-registration there has been running since July.
What kind of game is Outlanders?
Capcom calls it a "Survival Hunting Action" game set in the new world of Aesoland. The core loop is pure Monster Hunter — track monsters, hunt them, gather resources, craft gear — rebuilt around touch controls and shorter sessions.
Instead of playing a silent hunter, you assemble a cast of original Adventurers, each with distinct playstyles (some obtainable through gacha). Your own Fated Adventurer protagonist anchors the journey and stays viable throughout — TiMi confirmed they "will always remain relevant." Adventurers shown so far include Freya and Haze, with more to come.

You're not hunting alone, either. Three Buddies join the adventure — Palico, Rutaco, and Trillan — each with their own personality, and gathering plus facility-building systems make Aesoland a persistent world rather than a string of disconnected quests.
Two control modes: Classic and Adventure
One of the smartest decisions for a mobile Monster Hunter: two control schemes at launch.
- Classic Mode — traditional hunting controls for series veterans, laid out closer to the mainline games
- Adventure Mode — simplified inputs that get newcomers into satisfying hunts fast, without the steep learning curve
Both modes are available from day one.
Weapons: seven classics, plus Charge Blade
Outlanders launches with seven classic weapon types: Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Heavy Bowgun, and Bow. Each weapon pairs with Adventurers in unique combinations, unlocking all-new follow-up moves while keeping the core hunting feel intact.
The producer videos also confirmed the Charge Blade will be available — more weapons are planned for post-launch updates.
Meet Ruger Aidal, the flagship Elder Dragon
Every Monster Hunter needs its flagship, and Outlanders has an original one: Ruger Aidal, an Elder Dragon wreathed in golden, radiant light that descends "like a second sun." It was revealed at Gamescom 2026 and takes center stage in the launch trailer, emerging from storm clouds with razor-sharp golden wings.
Ruger Aidal's radiance literally transforms the island: monsters exposed to it become Radiant Species, with altered appearances and behaviors. Familiar faces are back too — Rathalos, Rathian, Diablos, Kushala Daora, Anjanath, and Nergigante all appear, some in new Radiant forms.

Co-op and live service
Hunting is built for squads: explore Aesoland solo or rally friends with a single tap into 4-player hunting parties. Traversal tools like the Sky Glide and Wind Platforms keep the open world moving.

This is a live-service game, not a one-and-done release. Both producers confirmed Outlanders will get regular updates with new monsters, biomes, and weapons — and TiMi says more original monsters are already in active development.
